About Us

Tiny Toons was established in 1994 and since then have built up an excellent reputation for high quality childcare in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Many of our original parents are now returning with siblings.

Parental Involvement
We have an open door policy which allows our parents to visit as often as they wish and we have a parent rota which invites parents to come in once a term to help out. We also give termly news letters and keep parents informed of any changes that may arise. We keep parents fully informed of their childs progress by sending out child profiles each term giving feedback which parents can also respond to.

TinyToons have a full policy document available to parents which gives details of our Equal Opportunities, Special Needs and behaviour policies.

At Tinytoons all staff have to undertake:-

An Enhanced Criminal Records Check
Child Protection Training.
First Aid Training

Staff also attend various training courses throughout the year to make sure we are all aware of new information and updated procedures.

The government have devised a new curriculum framework which starts in September 2008 and staff have already attended introductory training on this. We will endeavour to make sure all staff are trained to the best possible standard.

We also encourage staff to increase their knowledge and study for childcare qualifications when possible.

Staff meetings are also held regularly each term to ensure staff are aware of the needs of every individual child in our care and we plan our activities around this.

We are involved in a big work experience programme with local schools and colleges and encourage students to come along and spend a week with us each summer to gain an insight into the childcare profession.

Some staff are also key-workers who are responsible for their own group of children.

They help their group to settle on starting with us. They plan activities according to each childs needs and are generally responsible for their welfare and learning whilst at Tinytoons. Each term staff also write a feedback profile to parents giving a brief update on their childs progress which parents can then respond to. When children are ready to move onto nursery school staff also compile a more formal report showing evidence of a childs progress over their time with us.

We are proud to have a strong committed team of staff who have excellent childcare knowledge & experience.
